SHARE Atlanta’s Healthy Marriage Initiative and the Risala Institute Co-Sponsor “Keys To A Blissful Marriage” Workshop

Yaqutullah Ibraheem, SHARE Atlanta HMI Chair, Atiba Saleem, The Risala Institute & SHARE Atlanta

SHARE Atlanta proudly and humbly joins the Risala Institute in a collaborative co-sponsorship of its fourth Healthy Marriage Initiative Workshop scheduled for November 22nd.  This workshop, entitled “Keys to a Blissful Marriage” was inspired by what we commonly observe as an extremely high divorce rate within our American Muslim community, and is designed to be one step in an effort to help couples attain healthy marriages in order to prevent the continuation of this escalating problem.  In order to treat this critical subject with thoroughness, the seminar is being scheduled as a full day, seven (7) hour, intensive session.

Khalil Abdur-Rashid, Seminar Presenter, will be offering three keys to attaining a healthy marriage that will include: 1) examples from the Qur’an and Sunna; 2) a focus on protecting the marriage from Shayton and the Nafs; and 3) a focus on and the import role of finance within the marital union.

Khalil Abdur-Rashid formerly served as an Arabic professor at Georgia State University.  For the past three years, he has been living in Istanbul, Turkey, where he has been studying Islamic Law, Arabic, Turkish, Islamic Spirituality and a host of other subjects.  He will soon be completing his Masters degree in Islamic law in Istanbul.  Before he traveled to Istanbul, he taught various Islamic classes around Metro Atlanta, including such places as Spelman College, The Center for Islamic Counseling and Guidance, Masjid Al-Ihsan, the Islamic Community Center of Atlanta (Fayetteville), the Risala Institute, and at his home. He has also previously studied various Islamic Sciences in places such as Yemen and Syria.

SHARE Atlanta will host its fifth workshop of year entitled “Rights & Responsibilities In Muslim Marriage”, which will be presented by Shaykh Ibrahim Pasha.  The workshop is scheduled to take at 4PM on Saturday, December 19th at Masjid Al Mu’Minun.

We are  also pleased to announce the availability of the two DVD package for our August 29th Polygyny workshop that featured Dr. Debra Majeed, Imam Qasim Ahmed and his two beloved wives Nadiyah Ahmad and Aminah Muhammad.   Please send your payment of $22.00 (which includes shipping and handling) to 971 North Hairston Road. And hold fast, all together, by the rope which Allah (stretches out for you), and be not divided among yourselves; and remember with gratitude Allah's favour on you; for ye were enemies and He joined your hearts in love, so that by His Grace, ye became brethren; and ye were on the brink of the pit of Fire, and He saved you from it. Thus doth Allah make His Signs clear to you: That ye may be guided.
